Last night, my Mareng Lani and I were talking about our escapades this year. I told her that our company outing might be my last out-of-town this year because Mark and I need to save for our future. She told me that she has only 3 remaining vacations because she also needs to save for their house and wedding. Then suddenly, Mark chatted me saying, "Punta daw tayo ng Hong Kong". And my eyes sparkled. Hahaha. His parents are planning to go to HK some time in August, and we will be with them... hopefully. :D

MongoDb 1.8 Released

One of my projects in my current job is using MongoDB. My boyfriend, who is working as a Solutions Architect in the same company, introduced this database to me. This is not a relational database for this is a document-oriented database. 


To define, from Wikipedia, MongoDB (from "humongous") is an open source, scalable, high-performance, schema-free, web-scale, enterprise, document-oriented database written in the C++ programming language. The database is document-oriented so it manages collections of JSON-like documents. Many applications can, thus, model data in a more natural way, as data can be nested in complex hierarchies and still be query-able and indexable. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MongoDB)


And last March 16, 2011, MongoDB 1.8 has been released as the stable version and containing the fixes from previous versions and other improvements.

A Toast For Life

Last February 28, My boyfriend's college best friend and the girl who used to be the apple of his eyes said their vows at St Therese Parish, Lahug, Cebu City. The reception was followed at Chateau de Busay, a very romantic and nice place. 

Mark Dennis (my boyfriend) and I went to Cebu City to attend this very memorable event of Mark Philip and Janice. My favorite part was the fireworks while they were dancing. Sad, because I had not captured that moment using my tomomi.

Sunrise from my New Window

Ok, that's it. I already moved out last Feb 13. I told my Nanay and Ate that I will try a sideline job and I need a nearer place from my office to do it. But the real reason why I moved out is I want to experience a life independently. 

And now, here it is, a very different life. My Nanay is not there to wash my clothes, to wash my used plates, mugs, etc, to get my towel after I took a bath, to clean my used cotton buds, etc. But it is fulfilling. 

I survived my first week, and I will survive the coming weeks, months, and years. :) It's a good thing that I don't need to wake up at 4am everyday. And God has a bonus for me: I always see the sunrise from my window, reminding me how beautiful life is.

I prefer I'm alone to my room so that I could not disturb anyone and I can do what I want. I used to wake up early and turn the lights on whenever I'm awake; I might disturb her when that happen. However, my room is for 2 persons so there might be a time that another one will occupy it. Maybe I'll just go through with it, and find another one if it does not work. :)

Sometimes we don’t know why we fall in love to a person. Sometimes we still search for more if we already decided who will be this person. But I learned that if you really love a person, you will accept him whoever he is, though there are still missing from him. 

For less than 3 months from now, my honey and I will be celebrating our first year anniversary. And I have no any regret why I chose him though sometimes I am still searching something from him. He’s not a typical sweet boyfriend, not even a type of a person that will give you surprises, but he’s always there for you. He never fails to support you and love you in his own special way.

Love is not something what you can get, but is something what you can give. It is something how you accept things and be contented for everything.
